After a short break we’re back and ready to roll with Season 5 of Texx Talks, our biggest Season yet. We know we say that at the beginning of every Season but that’s because it’s true and we’re leveling up, hard.

So get ready for exclusive plays, declarations of love and more than a few confessions from our local and international guests to spice things up this season.

This season we are proud to be collaborating with Puma, our firm friends in championing the culture. Puma has been at the vanguard of so many awesome happenings over the last decade, so it was only natural that we joined forces with them to keep you in the loop with all the scene happenings.

From their inspiring SELECT SESSIONS and SELECT STORIES, to their cutting edge unique collabs and the many more that they have in the pipeline, rest assured that this Season we’ll be bringing you all the breaking Puma news, hot off the press. With a sneaky giveaway or two thrown in for good measure.

First up on SELECT SESSIONS on the 29th of April is Hip Hop & RnB Brother Duo, Major Steez – so simply head on over to PUMA South Africa on Instagram and tune into their IGTV at 18:00 SAST. They also have an insane catalogue of previous episodes, so while you’re there why not check out the rest of their content too?

For this episode we catch up with an internationally recognised choreographer, dancer, B-girl, DJ and entrepreneur, who is a bonafide powerhouse and has grown to be a respected force in the industry.

This cultural and creative polymath is not one to have terms dictated to her and her relentless pursuit of excellence has seen her climb heights despite seemingly having the odds stacked against her.

From her exploits on the global stage as a B-girl, to her burgeoning career as a DJ and producer, Courtnae Paul has never accepted “mediocre” as being a part of her ambitious lexicon.

We are bringing something back from the vault while we prepare for season 5! We can’t wait to share what we have been working on with you, but for now, here is one of our favourites from Season 3.

If you pay extra careful attention: we have a little treat for you next episode! Without further ado:

Nasty C is a multi award-winning rapper who, despite growing up in Durban, the home of kwaito, house and gqom, carved a different path for himself in hip hop.

This path ultimately saw him become the youngest ever recipient of an award at the SA Hip Hop Awards in 2015, release a triple-platinum selling album in 2018, and ultimately go on to sign to a historic deal with Def Jam Records in early 2020.

Having toured 32 new markets last year alone, this trailblazer has a knack for filling up arenas and dominating the stage, and at only 23-year-old he is undisputedly the voice of a new generation with a third hit album (A Zulu Man With Some Power), mini-documentary (Origins) and a Netflix special (Zulu Man in Japan) under his belt in 2020 so far.

Coldcut is a DJ duo who rose to acclaim in the mid-’80s through production and remix work for a number of modern rock, hip hop, and dance outfits.

It wouldn’t be amiss to call them pioneers of the UK’s electronic dance scene, while also being technological trendsetters, and a unifying force in underground experimental electronic music, through their eclectic radio show.

From being a part of pirate radio in the late ‘80s, to their underground adoption of hip hop techniques via their pioneering use of technology, Coldcut is the vanguard of experimental electronic production across multiple mediums and their latest collaborative initiative, Keleketla!, Keleketla! is an expansive project, reaching outward from Johannesburg to London, Lagos, L.A. and West Papua.
