**Re-Release**

While we continue to put our upcoming Season through its paces, we are continue to highlight the amazing womxn of Texx Talks. This week we bring back one of our favourite episodes…

Alice Phoebe Lou

Alice Phoebe Lou is a proudly independent singer-songwriter whose creative confidence shines courtesy of her captivating vocals and stripped back compositions.

Having developed her bluesy, folk sound busking on the streets of Berlin, she has caught the ears of a community of music lovers the world over with her honest storytelling and raw, beautiful voice.

From growing up in the quiet seaside town of Kommetjie in Cape Town, to opening for the lauded Rodriguez, to collaborating with Game Of Thrones’ Maisie Williams, to being shortlisted for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, Alice continues to forge her own path by asserting her hard-earned independence.

Now that all the corporate noise around Womxn’s Month has died down, we have decided to bring you some of our past episodes through September featuring our female guests from previous seasons while we take a little break before Season 3.

Zolani Mahola

Zolani Mahola can be best described as a South African national treasure. Over her 17 years in the industry, she established herself as the frontwoman of award-winning group Freshlyground, before reinventing herself under her solo moniker as “The One Who Sings” at the end of 2019.

From getting deported by authoritarian regimes to feeling your lowest whilst on top, Zolani’s journey is one one of boundless optimism and heartfelt glimpses into the mind of this talented storyteller.

We honestly can’t believe that so much has happened over the last two months of Texx Talks Season 2.

We just need to get real for a second – the process of recording Season 2 in lockdown has not been without its ups and downs.

And if it wasn’t for the whole team, scattered around South Africa, keeping each other sane, we all would have lost our collective minds.

But between the support of you, the listener, and TOMS – we managed to raise the bar and smash all of our expectations.

So now let’s LOOK BACK.

Michael David Rosenberg – better known to all of us as Passenger – is an award-winning, chart topping singer-songwriter who commands the stage and your attention, like few solo acts can and do.

With his intimate, folk-inflected sound, this one-man band has built a loyal following, and he chats to us about a recent foul purchase, chasing an endless summer and how commanding a street corner ultimately prepares you to face 65 000 fans.
